What is Profhilo
PROFHILO® is the first bio-remodelling “injectable skincare” made from stabilized pure Hyaluronic Acid (HA). It is designed to remodel multi-layer skin tissue through the bio-stimulation of collagen, elastin and adipocytes.
How does Profhilo works
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance produced in our body. Its role is to retain moisture in the body and aid collagen production. It can hold 1000 times its weight in water which makes it ideal for binding moisture in the skin. With age however, hyaluronic acid production reduces, making the skin appear dull and dehydrated with fine lines and wrinkles formation.
PROFHILO® contains one of the highest concentrations of stabilised hyaluronic acid (64mg/2ml) on the market. Because it is thermally bonded and not chemically bonded, it acts as a hydrator not a filler. It is injected just underneath the surface of the skin where it disperses quickly and reacts with your own tissue to instantly boost hydration. Over the next four weeks phase two kicks in, boosting elastin and collagen production. This effectively remodels the skin and gives it a plumper, smoother and firmer appearance.

This procedure is performed with first applying topical anaesthesia to ensure that the treatment is as comfortable as possible.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many treatments?
The full treatment consists of two sessions, one month apart. A further session may be recommended after approximately six months in order to prolong the effect. PROFHILO® can be used on its own or in conjunction with other fillers or neuromodulators as a complementary, rather than a competitive treatment.
Expected results
Unlike other Hyaluronic Acid injectables, PROFHILO®, as a bio-remodeling agent, will take time to take effect. Results are not immediate. Instead, your skin gradually improves over 4 weeks, with full results seen 1-2 months after your 2nd session.
Side Effects
There are no long-term side effects. PROFHILO® is metabolised by the body completely as it is biocompatible.
Downtime
Overall, there is no downtime. However, some may experience redness, slight bruising, tenderness as well as itching at the injection sites but these are temporary and should resolve within a few hours to a day.
It is advisable to avoid alcohol, anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, certain supplements such as Vitamin C and Ginseng for 48-72 hours before treatment.
After treatment, you should avoid wearing make-up, doing any sports, going into saunas and steam rooms for 24 hours after treatment.

PROFHILO® is suitable for those who are noticing the signs of aging skin (such as skin laxity, soft lines and folds) and would like to have a rejuvenated look without adding volume in a specific place.

How does it differ from Dermal Filler?
Although PROFHILO® and dermal fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid, their characteristics and function differ in more ways than one.
PROFHILO® is a bio-stimulator and doesn’t change the structure of the face. Its formulation allows it to flow over an extended area to boost hydration, smooth and ‘remodel’ the skin.
In comparison, dermal fillers remain in the area they are placed in and restore loss of volume, enhance the facial structure and plump up deep lines and wrinkles in that area.
We believe that PROFHILO® is complementary to, rather than competitive with dermal fillers.They work exceptionally well together and dramatic improvements can be produced.
What makes it unique?
PROFHILO® contains both high molecular weight (HMW) and low molecular weight (LMW) HA which generates a dual action, incorporating hydration and tissue stimulation from the LMW, referred to as the HYDRO effect, alongside dermal scaffold support from the HMW, referred to as the LIFT effect. Therefore it is known for its HydroLift® Action.
Besides that, it requires minimal injection points, treatment is quick, has reduced adverse effects, minimal to no downtime, and results are sustained for longer.
